European Sustainable Development Week 2020

The European Sustainable Development Week is an initiative whose objective is to encourage and publicize activities promoting sustainable development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) throughout Europe. It usually takes place every year from May 30 to June 5.

Due to the health crisis linked to COVID-19, the SDD 2020 wished to take into account the possible postponements of the activities scheduled during the initial period of the SDD, following the various health instructions applied.

Thus, to give the organizers the possibility of planning their events on a new date, it was decided to postpone the SDD2020 from September 18 to October 08, with the heart of the week from September 20 to 26.

The SDS recognizes the importance of sustainable development, especially in this time of crisis, and stresses the importance of not losing sight of sustainable development. Therefore, the SDS would like to encourage activities to take place now to provide relief, support and “benevolent” responses to the crisis in the spirit of the SDGs if they can be carried out safely or in a virtual setting.
