27 major projects

Fondacio is involved in development and solidarity projects (PDS) whose purpose is to give men and women in precarious situations the means to become actors in their lives, by promoting the development of their autonomy.

Fondacio’s development and solidarity programs and projects are based on the search for personal autonomy, respect for local cultures and the principle of subsidiarity. Even if certain situations require urgent action, Fondacio’s action is based on the long term and therefore leaves ample room for the training of local actors.

In each country where Fondacio is established, the commitment of its members in solidarity development programs is encouraged, in order to improve the living conditions of the most vulnerable. The projects respond to the specific needs of each region. These programs are led by associations governed by local law and managed by local actors who are themselves part of the socio-economic fabric. The projects are aimed at the entire population, regardless of their political or religious affiliation. They are carried out in collaboration with local civil and political structures.

Most of Fondacio’s major projects are carried out in partnership with local or foreign organizations and companies, each providing the means and skills to carry out the projects.

In 2019, nearly 100,000 people were the direct beneficiaries of one of our development projects. We have about twenty major projects spread over 4 continents (see the corresponding pages), which can be divided into the following sectors:

• Education and youth,

• Social entrepreneurship,

• Economic and social development

• Health,

• Water and sanitation,

• Environment.
