The kickoff was fired on March 18, during a ceremony at the Los Almendros, Fondacio center in Santiago, Chile, attended by many partners of the school. Sister Caroline Mayer of Fundacion Cristo Vive, an NGO at the service of the poorest, passionately testifies this momentum: "a fire ignites other fires".

The mayor of Huechuraba, the poor neighborhood next to the Almendros, also welcomes this initiative. Not to mention America Solidaria, which also fights against poverty and fully supports the IFF project. This ceremony was also an opportunity for the students to meet François Prouteau, president of Fondacio, who thanked all those who were involved to launch this project, including Patricio Letelier, director of IFF América.
During the evening, the guests were able to discover 12 young people with very different profiles : Yaneth comes from the Llaquepata community in Peru, just like Rene. Situation very different from that of Hernan, which comes from a rich district of Santiago. All three are 19 years old, and the oldest student is 30 years old. These young people, who are so different, will have to learn how to live in a community, since they will spend this year in shared housing, and adapt to a different culture: 2 months of internship are planned in a country other than their country of origin .
For 2 months, the 12 students had a busy schedule.
After two weeks of integration, punctuated by cultural visits of Santiago and Valparaiso, activities of self-knowledge and the development of their training plan, they work since through various workshops: communication, theater, ethical discernment, look theological and political ...
