A few words from Agnès Teynié, Director of IFF Europe, to review the last few months the year 2020 and to welcome the new year in the right way
"Life resistance nests in the small details... The spirit of a school too. » Agnès Teynié, Director of IFF Europe
At the moment, while we are warm at home or with our families, lonely sailors are facing storms or lack of wind around the South Pole. It's Vendée Globe time that I enjoy following with my son. These men and women leave a lasting impression on me. Beyond their solitude - solo round the world, without assistance or stopovers - I have been taught by the solidarity of these adventurous skippers. The rescue amidst the raging elements of Kevin Escoffier - whose boat sank - by Jean Le Cam is a model of the kind of courage, intelligence and sense of the other. Testing one's life force in difficult conditions: ultimately they can be a source of inspiration for us in these times we live in.
We too are living our journey. I don't know about you, but at IFF Europe there is a sense of relief at the end of the year 2020. Relief mixed with anxiety, because apparently we are not at the end of the tunnel. In any case, in our teams and as for the students, the Christmas break is welcome. The past two months have been very demanding for all of us, we are proud to say that we are holding the helm and are not letting go of the training and the students in this period. And proud of their work, they are here to stay. Present in OPEN's support for the progress of orientation, I was very favourably marked: they have not lost these two months, far from it! They are there. And even at times, they amaze us. Locked up at home, they are able to set up self-financing actions for their solidarity projects. For example, this year, the operation to sell home-made beer was a great success. All the partners for next June's solidarity projects have been found and validated.
Normally, on the eve of the holidays, we celebrate Christmas in an evening: a festive evening, gift sharing, talents on stage, shared dinner mark the end of the quarter. Celebration and festive times are part of our culture, and to give up this school night was heartbreaking. So we decided to innovate, by videoconference, for the first fraternal and virtual evening in our collective history. Each class had prepared a video, and the team of trainers had prepared a humorous quiz. We were all in "Christmas dress code", we had a very warm and joyful time, and honoured these past months. The resistance of life is in the little details... The spirit of a school too.
Dear friends of Institute of Formation Fondacio Europe, we would like to wish you a happy festive season and the renewal of your strength so that together we can embark on 2021 with the bodily desire to act in the service of life. Thank you for your friendship and your presence at our side.
