Every year, a few dozen young people get involved in projects supported by the FONDACIO association and become a force for proposals, exchanges and sharing of skills that enrich the actions on site . These missions are aimed at all those who are looking for a strong human experience and who wish to join a solid organization with a significant project.
International volunteering is an opportunity to grow in intercultural experiences, develop professional skills and invest in human capital to serve meaningful solidarity development projects.

International volunteering with Fondacio

International Volunteering with Fondacio is characterized by:

Its diversity of missions: education, health, humanitarian...
Its diversity of duration: short, medium or long stay (6 months, 1 year, 2 years)
Its diversity of destinations: Africa, South America or Asia
Its support: before, during and after the mission, reinforced by the local presence of Fondacio members, which allows monitoring throughout the volunteering period and a review of the experience.

Become a Volunteer

Everyone must ask themselves what are the real motivations that drive them to act in this direction.
Why? Because volunteering is an intense experience that requires real personal work before, during and after the mission. This work on oneself is an integral part of the mission process.
What are the causes that concern you the most?
Who do you want to help in particular?
What are your skills, your availability, your real motivations?
What type of job would best suit your personality?
Do you want to stay in France or go abroad?

The different types of volunteering:

Missions take place in the countries where Fondacio is present, provided that security requirements are met. Volunteers are received by Fondacio's local managers and are under their responsibility throughout their stay.

Volunteering

1) Volunteer skills exchange: from 6 to 24 months

These missions are organized according to local needs and the skills that the volunteer can bring to the project. They allow volunteers to discover the world through useful experiences and concrete actions of a social, economic and educational nature. The duration is adapted according to the wishes expressed by the volunteer and the needs of the project.

2) International solidarity volunteering: from 12 to 24 months

The needs are many and varied. Some are easily identifiable and require a regular flow of volunteers, others are more occasional. There are permanent positions available. The most frequent needs concern support for the very poor (street children, disabled), assistance with education as well as support for existing structures (schools, orphanages, clinics).

3) Civic service volunteering: 6 to 12 months

Civic service is an introductory voluntary service aimed at young people. It is managed by the Civic Service Agency and entitles the recipient to a remuneration of 620 euros (504.98 from the French state and 114.85 from the host organization).

Criteria:
- Young people aged 18 to 25 (up to the day before their 26th birthday), extended to 30 years for young people with disabilities;
- Without condition of diploma, professional experience or prior training;
- French or foreign nationals residing in France (check the list of residence permits on the Civic Service Agency website);
- Europeans or holders of nationality from countries hosting French volunteers, to carry out their mission in France, in a principle of reciprocal exchanges.

Conditions for leaving with Fondacio:
Be over 18 years old at the time of the mission.

The missions we offer are part of Fondacio, a Christian structure intended for a wide audience. It is desirable that our volunteers, without having to be believers, know and share a minimum of values (listening, welcoming others, sharing and giving of oneself) to feel comfortable in the destination locations.
You must have:

A desire to be open to a different culture and way of life.

Being able to adapt to new living conditions and work in a team.

Speak Spanish in South America and English in Asia.

Have a Spirit of Service.

Be prepared to undertake a fundraising process, as Fondacio cannot provide the necessary funds for all volunteers. We support you in this process and help you accomplish this mission. We attach particular importance to financing each person's project. We believe that fundraising is an integral part of everyone's project.

Volunteer in the Philippines

I flew to the Philippines for a year of volunteering with the Fondacio association. I put my marketing and communication skills to work on the association's various projects: Green Pastures, IFFASIA and YLDC.

Three projects whose common mission is to help the most disadvantaged young people to access training in order to offer them a bright future.

This experience was unforgettable! A year full of smiles, discoveries and learning with the human being at the heart of the projects. Thank you Fondacio! I am already dreaming of returning to the Philippines to reconnect with everyone we met.

Volunteer at Oasis Fondacio in Colombia

After 9 months at Oasis, I only see the opportunity I had to work in an "open day" where actors from all countries and generations meet.

Living to the rhythm of a neighborhood like this, trying to understand such a different reality and having the chance to share a little of the daily life of the inhabitants, is also a way of learning humility.

Volunteer in Fondacio, Chile

Volunteering at Fondacio ... What an adventure! I arrived for 6 months at Fondacio Chile, but ended up staying there for 2 years! I was won over by the simple generosity of the Chilean welcome, by the strength of the encounters I had in the disadvantaged neighborhood where I live and by the contagious enthusiasm that the social projects developed at Fondacio arouse. These two years have been a permanent learning experience, both on a professional, human and personal level. I come out with new or reinforced skills, an openness to the world, greater self-confidence, a tenfold increase in social awareness and motivation, a search for and reinforcement for simplicity.

I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to have this enriching experience in every way.
