Mandate of an independent study commission
In March 2024, Fondacio set up an independent study commission, continuing the work of highlighting abuses committed within the Foundations of the New World (now Fondacio) and the recognition of victims in connection with the Recognition and Reparation Commission (CRR).
Purpose of the commission
The main purpose of this study commission is to carry out rigorous and independent work on the history of Fondacio, the different types of abuse that were committed there and their understanding.
The facts and analyses produced by the commission will relate to the history, role and place of the founder, the values and spirituality implemented, and the discourse and vocabulary used. They should also concern the modes of operation: governance, exercise of authority, conflict management, and support for leaders and community members.
The five main objectives assigned to the Commission
Shedding light
from a concrete point of view on the history of Fondacio and the significant events of the Community, in particular those which have been painful or which have caused crises, from 1974 to the present day, on all the activities of the movement in France or which proceed from a legal structure established in France.
Better understanding
the mechanisms of domination and the occurrence of abuses (sexual, spiritual, power abuses) that have affected the members of Fondacio personally or collectively.
Formulate recommendations
for the prevention of abuse and recommendations in certain key areas, for example: spiritual life and the exercise of charisms, accompaniment, training or otherness in the Community.
Analyze the speech
by Jean-Michel Rousseau, its areas of deviance and its consequences up to the present day.
Welcoming the voices of the victims
in addition to and in connection with the independent listening unit and the CRR.

Established with the assistance of the CRR, the commission is chaired by Ms. Brigitte Debernardy. To date, it has six members:
