The Philippines and France meet!

Comunidad

On the evening of April 10, the long-term members of Fondacio Philippines had an impromptu meeting with the long-term members of France who had their national retirement at the time. It was a joyful, short but significant meeting to experience the communion between the two countries.

What is a "long-term committed member"?

Members with a long-term commitment to Fondacio are members of Fondacio who, after several years of commitment to Fondacio (at least 7 years of membership), have felt the call to commit themselves publicly for an indefinite period (this which can be a lifetime commitment) to this cell of the Church, which is the Fondacio.
This commitment means following Christ, becoming more fully the Child of God that one is meant to be, and being a witness to Christ through this particular family that is Fondacio.

There are three (3) dimensions of the commitment that Fondacio has translated into the perspective and spirituality of Fondacio, being a lay community:

  • Relationship to power (obedience): docility and faithfulness to the spirit
  • Human relationship (chastity): love and genuine relationship
  • Possession (poverty): sober living, surrender to God and solidarity

For Fondacio, the existence of members ready to take on this long-term commitment represents human capital that allows it to make long-term plans for the future.
They will ensure the continuity of Fondacio, bringing solidarity and stability; he can now identify the people on whom Fondacio can count.

Long-term committed members of Fondacio Philippines

On May 7, 2006, Fondacio Philippines had welcomed 8 members - 3 couples and 2 single women - (in the person of Bong & Becky Garces, Manny and Betty San Luis, Churchill & Elvie Salaver, Baby Ramirez and Norma Manalili) who committed publicly on the occasion of the inauguration of the Fondacio Asia Training Institute (IFFAsia).

To date, 5 of them have remained engaged long-term (Elvie and Chill passed away while Norma chose to leave due to inability to remain active at Fondacio due to her other commitments).
