A farmer, friend of Fondacio, has just made a donation to Fondacio consisting of 450 bags of potatoes, which represents a little over 11,000 kilos of potatoes!
The truck carrying these potatoes arrived at Centro Los Almendros last Monday, July 6, where, with the help of a group of young volunteers and some people who work at Centro Los Almendros called especially for this purpose, they proceeded to store the bags in the Sala Las Araucarias where they will be better preserved.
The distribution of this merchandise began quickly with the four common pots with which Fondacio collaborates, Las Araucarias, Las Canteras 1, El Bosque 2 and La Pincoya (see news). The large quantity of sacks of potatoes allowed us to also share with the Fundación Cristo Vive, with the parish of the Nuestra Señora de los Pobres sector and with the Padre Hurtado Institute, a school located in the municipality of Huechuraba.
The food distribution project that Fondacio is developing with Claro Chile may also include this month a bag of potatoes for each participating family, which surely in addition to being consumed can be shared with the closest neighbors. This reminds us that in a dynamic of solidarity, we are all called to both receive and give.
