On October 29, 2026, Fondacio published the report of the independent review commission tasked with investigating its history and the abuses committed within the organization. This publication marks an important step on the path to truth, recognition, and accountability.
On Thursday, October 29, 2026, at the Catholic University of the West in Angers, the official presentation of the report of the independent study commission mandated by Fondacio took place.
The members of the Independent Study Commission presented their work to the victims and their relatives, the support committee, the quartet responsible for Fondacio in France, the international co-chair team and people involved in the movement.
Nearly 200 people were present on site, while approximately 150 others followed the presentation online.
A job to confront history head-on
Established in March 2024, the Independent Study Commission was tasked with conducting rigorous work from 1974 to the present day on the history of Fondacio in France, then Foundations of the New World, and with better understanding the mechanisms that allowed situations of control, sexual violence, spiritual abuse and abuse of authority.
His work has focused in particular on the role and place of the founder, modes of governance, the exercise of authority, the support of members and leaders, as well as the culture and functioning of the movement.
Information regarding the mandate, objectives and composition of the Commission remains accessible on the page dedicated to the Independent Study Commission.
The voices of victims are at the heart of the report.
The Commission placed the victims and their testimonies at the heart of its work. The analyses and findings of the report are rooted in life stories that have left a lasting mark, and suffering that has gone unacknowledged for far too long.
For several years, Fondacio has been committed to a truth-seeking approach: listening to the testimonies of victims, breaking the silence, and acknowledging what happened. The Commission's report contributes to nurturing and deepening this process.
Upon receiving this report, Fondacio acknowledges the testimony of the victims and welcomes what has been revealed.
The publication of the report is not an end in itself.
Making this report public is not an end in itself. Its publication commits Fondacio to reviewing its conclusions, understanding what they reveal, and working with them to draw conclusions from the proposals formulated by the Commission.
Taking the voices of victims seriously, acknowledging the various forms of abuse, and continuing to question the practices and culture of the movement are long-term requirements. This work demands courage, humility, and a genuine commitment to transformation, which Fondacio confirms it intends to pursue.
Prevent, protect, support
The challenge now is to continue and deepen the steps already taken in terms of prevention, protection of persons and good treatment.
Anyone directly affected by or witnessing a concerning event can use the international "I report" system, designed to collect reports and testimonies. Fondacio presents the principles, mechanisms, and commitments implemented on its Protection & Well-being page.
A report is made public
In accordance with its commitment, Fondacio makes the Commission's work available: Several documents are offered to allow access to the Commission's work in different formats and languages:
- the full report of the Independent Study Commission;
- the summary in French, English and Spanish
All of these documents are available on the following page:

Shedding light on the past to act in the future
To study in depth the conclusions of the report, to draw lessons from them and to continue the work undertaken in prevention, vigilance and transformation: Fondacio has committed to reporting on the working method that will be put in place to follow up on the findings of the Commission.
Shedding light on the past is a responsibility. Fondacio is now resolutely entering this new phase.
