Train, inspire, empower.

These three words sum up the spirit of the pastry training provided by Fondacio through the Les Étincelles center in Bouaké, Ivory Coast.
On Monday, October 13, 2025, a certificate award ceremony marked the end of the first wave of this 100% practical training, designed to promote the empowerment of women.

A simple but powerful initiative: restoring confidence to women often faced with precariousness, while passing on to them concrete know-how, a source of autonomy and dignity.

A fulfilled and independent woman means a happier and stronger society.

Training to transform lives

For three months, the participants learned the basics of baking: making cakes, petits fours, tarts, savory dishes... but above all, they learned to believe in their abilities.
This training is not just about recipes — it is a school of resilience and self-confidence.

I am very moved to present these certificates,” says Carole Dominik, director of the Les Étincelles by Fondacio center.
" The learners were motivated, some even brought their children. Our mission is to enable them to gain financial independence. Many support their families, and this skill becomes a real springboard to freedom for them. "

Women writing a new story

For Fofana Kady, 38, mother of three, this training was a revelation:

" I learned to make cakes, petits fours, and even savory dishes. As a teacher by trade, baking will be my side business to supplement my income. Thanks to this affordable training, I can expand my shop and offer a better future to my children. "

Testimonies like Kady's embody Fondacio 's vision: to help each person get back on their feet, reveal their potential and become an agent of change.

A human and united adventure

Behind every success, there is a chain of solidarity.
Carole Dominik would like to warmly thank the donors and partners who support these programs:

Thanks to you, we are making the women of Bouaké more independent, and through them, entire families are finding hope again.

The center now wants to expand its space to accommodate more learners — and their children — in better conditions.

Fondacio: building a more humane and fairer world

Through projects like Les Étincelles, Fondacio Côte d'Ivoire is fully committed to its global mission: to support young people, support families and promote integral ecology.
Educating a woman is much more than teaching her a trade—it is educating an entire generation in hope and dignity.
