IFFAsia: Meeting with the former students of the 12th batch

IFFAsia, June 26, 2021: Twelve (12) alumni of IFFAsia Batch 12, SY 2019 gathered online for a POST TRAINING SUPPORT meeting for a second follow-up.

This Post Training Accompaniment is part of the pastoral and ministry support offered by IFFAsia to its alumni during their 2 years of internship in their respective sending organizations. This time the elders reflected and shared on Christ’s call for them this year 2021, in the area of their personal growth and also for the implementation of their Development Action Plan (PAD).
Here is “what” some of the former students say in their reflection on what they are called to do:

“…always moving forward and happily embracing and experiencing things or activities that I have never done before. »

– Mom (Cambodia)

“…take risks and be confident that I can help those in need.” »

-Jecy (Philippines)

“…continue to examine myself and my ability to comfort someone in a difficult situation. I’m capable.

– Salo (Laos)

“…choose to be a joyful Christian by sharing Christ with those I serve; find ways to be a joyful and better evangelist to the people around.

-Linh (Vietnam)

Additionally, we had the pleasure of having Bishop Joel Z. Baylon of the Diocese of Legazpi and also the President of IFFAsia to converse with the alumni. He affirmed and inspired them through his message on “Courage”. He acknowledged the current pandemic situation, the crises in Myanmar and having to deal with the many new developments in ministry to others. He encouraged elders to courageously seek ways of sharing; that they allow the five loaves and the two fish which they received in abundance at the time of their formation to multiply now. On top of that, he also reminded them of the importance of “BEING ALWAYS” – to observe the situation and above all to know that God is supporting us in all the events of our lives.

This is only the beginning, and there is no certainty as to what our life will become. This is why it is important that we pursue the goals and visions that we have set for ourselves.
